Barnardos New Zealand is committed to fundraising that is transparent, ethical and respectful of both our supporters and the children, young people and families that we support.
We are a Registered New Zealand Charity (CC21844) https://www.charities.govt.nz/, a member of the Public Fundraising Regulatory Authority https://www.pfra.org.nz/about-pfra and of the Fundraising Institute of New Zealand. https://www.finz.org.nz/
Why we fundraise:
Fundraising is a vital stream of income for Barnardos New Zealand. While a number of our services receive government funding, contract income does not cover the full cost of providing those services. We therefore rely on the generosity of individuals, companies and other funding bodies to ensure that children and families receive the support they need.
Fundraising income also allows us to run services that do not receive government support and to innovate and develop new programmes. It means we can advocate for systematic change and for the rights and wellbeing of children and young people.
