Moana Mackey is a former Labour list MP for the East Coast and Eastern Bay of Plenty, and is currently Chief Advisor to the Chief City Planner at Wellington City Council.
Moana Mackey joined the Board in 2018, and is a former Labour list MP for the East Coast and Eastern Bay of Plenty. Moana is currently Chief Advisor to the Chief Planning Officer and Chief Infrastructure Officer at Wellington City Council. As an experienced communicator with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in biochemistry from Victoria University, Moana brings together the unique skills of a scientific background, nearly twenty years’ experience working in the environmental sustainability field, in-depth knowledge of the processes of central and local government, and an extensive network of strong relationships built up over many years throughout the government, public sector, non-governmental organisation, media and iwi sectors. Moana is of Ngati Porou descent.
