The first 1000 days of a child’s life are critical. 80 percent of a child's brain development happens between pregnancy and a child’s 3rd birthday, with the potential to affect their entire life trajectory. The research overwhelmingly shows that a good start in life is a crucial factor in determining a child’s future.

Sadly, not every child in New Zealand has a fair start in life.
